My passion for pottery started when I first watched a master potter wrok at the wheel during a school field trip- I was fascinated by how a lump of clay could become something beautiful and useful. Since then, creating something with my hands has always been inspiring for me. After completing my BFA (Studio Art) in Southern Californis, I came back to the South Bay area of San Francisco, I set up my own studio and explored how to provide interesting art themes for the art classes I teach. In my spare time, I continuously improve my artistic creation process. Left: My recent artwork explores quiescence- a static state of mind that emerges after experiencing various tangible and intangible pressures in daily life. I am interested in building clay forms that embody different physical forces. The textures on the clay reveale how I transfer my invisible pressures into a visible surface. |
